What are your shipping policies?

We will ship your quilt as soon as possible— within a week, but likely sooner.

We charge a $20 flat fee for shipping quilts within the 48 contiguous states. For smaller items, the price of the item will be adjusted to take into account the shipping overage. If you require shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere else in the world, please reach out to us at honkflyinggeese@gmail.com or via DM on Instagram @_flying.geese_ for a shipping quote. You can check out with your international shipping address, and you will not be charged for shipping. Once we have figured out the exact shipping cost, we will send you an invoice for the shipping cost. International customer please note: a lower amount cannot be declared on the customs form for legal reasons.

Do you accept returns?

All sales are final.

Please review listing descriptions and photos carefully and feel free to reach out with any questions before making a purchase. We take a lot of time to describe and photograph the quilt to the best our abilities, but as with all handmade vintage and antique items, there may be some imperfections that might be hard to capture or that we might miss. Thank you for understanding!

Are your quilts washed?

The majority of our quilts are lovingly hand-washed and hung to dry naturally. We try to acquire pieces that can be safely washed and used in your home. Please see the listing description for the individual quilt you are interested in — we will mention if it has been washed.

The rare times we don’t wash a quilt:

  1. We get a quilt that is in excellent condition and it does not need a wash to be restored

  2. A quilt is in a beautiful but more fragile state (often worn fabric that might be damaged further from washing). These are quilts that are still beautiful for display.

Your quilts sell so quickly! Any tips on how to be successful purchasing?

It does turn out that beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces draw lots of lovers! Here are some tips that may help:

  • Creating an account on this website will allow for quick and easy checkout. On a mobile device, go to the top right menu tab and select “Create Account.” You will also be able to add your address and payment information. On a computer, the option should appear on the top menu bar.

  • Setting up Apple Pay on your phone allows you to enter all of your shipping information with one tap, and then allows you to check out with a quick click.

  • Asking all your questions prior to the collection becoming available allows you not to have to waste time asking questions once the collection is up.

  • I recommend trying to purchase only one piece at a time. The time it takes to put more than one item into your shopping cart may delay the purchase of the piece you really want. (That said, I do occasionally have people who are quick enough to purchase more than one at a time!)

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT ADDING AN ITEM TO YOUR CART DOES NOT SAVE IT. If someone completes the checkout process before you, the website will not allow you to complete your transaction.

  • Lastly, it may not always work out, and disappointment happens. But remember there will always be another beautiful piece out there for you.

How do I care for my quilt?

I have a quilt to sell. Are you interested?

We would love to hear more! Please reach out to us at honkflyinggeese@gmail.com and tell us more about your quilt(s). If your quilt fits into our shop and it is a family quilt, we will likely reserve it for a fundraiser. If it’s a quilt that has landed in your home without a traceable maker history, we will let you know what we could offer for it.

I have a story to tell. Wanna listen?

We are always looking for stories about women — particularly the hidden, invisible stories that should be recognized and celebrated. (And there doesn’t have to be a quilt in the story!) So if you have a story that you think should be told on our website or on our Insta, please reach out via email at honkflyinggeese@gmail.com. We would love to connect with you.
