Antique Turkey Red Star Wall Hanging
A favorite way to save beautiful antique quilts that have fallen into severe disrepair is to salvage blocks and make them into small wall hangings. In this process, we attempt to retain the integrity of the original work by not adding a distracting border, usually turning the actual available border fabric to make the trim. The finishing is all done by hand by the expert and loving hands of Jackie Copeland of Timeless Quilters. The back is fitted with a small sleeve, and a dowel and two clear pushpins are included with the piece.
This beautiful section was once part of a larger red and white Eight-Point Star quilt, made with turkey red fabric. The turkey red has faded to a beautiful chalky color, with a slightly darker block in the top left corner star. A lovely little accent for a corner of a room!
