Kiss me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways

That changes all you touch into crimson golden days.

Love me, Autumn, and behold this love so true

That I'll be waiting faithfully each year to be with you.

Patricia Cisco / from Sing to Me, Autumn

So many beautiful elements to point out on this Double Irish Chain quilt from around the 1870s. Firstly, she showcases the antique fugitive green dye in all her glory which creates an ombre affect throughout the quilt from the places most faded to a light caramel color to others where her green remains quite intact. Her red is bright and juxtaposes beautifully with the green. The printed yellow squares complete her fall color scheme. Her negative spaces are richly quilted with full feathered wreaths as big as sunflowers. She is a beauty to add to any collection or a luxurious first quilt for a new collector. Washed by hand and ready to go, she has only a few small light marks and a couple very small surface holes and is in great condition. A little folding discoloration on the back.

Measurements: 82” x 82”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV) — an organization in Atlanta, Georgia that supports women and children survivors of domestic violence through various initiatives. To learn more about their work, visit their website at https://padv.org/

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
