Floral Dutch Mill Quilt
A fun and vibrant quilt made with a myriad of feedsack prints against a background of white and bright poppy pink, this quilt will bring a burst of spring color into your home. The variety of feedsack fabrics are so much fun to admire as you lie under this beauty. The quilt is rendered in an unusual Dutch Mill pattern and is beautifully quilted by hand. Pencil guidelines remain in the white blocks as a reminder of the handiwork of the quilter. She is in excellent condition with just a few small light marks — one of them a tiny bit of light dye transfer from one of the prints — none really very noticeable amidst the vibrancy of the fabrics and pattern. (See photos.) A few very light stains on back. A really wonderful addition to your collection, whether it’s your first or 51st!
Measurements: 77” x 77”
$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount. All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.
15% of profits from this sale will go towards The Family Place in Texas, a non-profit that empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence. For more about their work, please see www.famlyplace.org.
Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.
Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
