Windmill Quilt

sold

A gorgeous quilt from the turn of the century in such a pleasing quilt pattern, rendered even more beautiful by the choice of fabrics and the quilting lines. The charming indigo fabric is still a deep blue, showing a bit of lovely fading in a few of the blocks. This quilt has been cherished and loved, and is perfect for someone who loves a quilt that shows some age. Light surface wear on some of the blocks and trim and one white piece that was patched. A couple of tiny marks as shown in the last photo, and some light scattered staining on the back. But no serious damage that compromises her usability. This quilt has been washed by hand and is ready for you to enjoy. She will add a beautiful graphic indigo accent to any corner of your home.

Measurements: 70” x 70”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Hilliard House in Richmond, VA — an organization local to Flying Geese that provides short-term emergency shelter for children and adults who are on their way to a permanent home. Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
