1857 Heirloom Red Rose Wreath Quilt

Notes: A true masterpiece — so many details to notice. Quilting — the feathered wreaths, rainbow arcs, the detailed appliqué throughout wreaths and border. One of the greens used for the vines/leaves was a fugitive green that has faded to a light pistachio color, which adds such visual/historical interest. A large S.S. monogram is appliquéd in corner and on the date “1857” is written on the first ‘S.’ Structurally in excellent condition. One of the wreaths has a bit of discoloration on the green leaves and there are some very light residual stains along one top corner. A few tiny light marks here and there. Displays beautifully. Washed by hand.
