Thousands of Leaves Triangles Quilt
For how many years did I wander slowly
through the forest. What wonder and
glory I would have missed had I ever been
in a hurry!
-Mary Oliver
A vision of the forest floor in autumn, this quilt has a myriad of beautiful fabrics from the mid-1800s, rich with calicos and brown madders and punctuated by the occasional bright cheddar or red. Spend hours studying the different triangles as you pull this soft quilt over your lap. This quilt was made by quilting a quilt top with a soft muslin back with a layer of batting in between, creating a piece that has a lightweight comforter feel — very cozy! (This work was done much later than the quilt top was made). The quilt top itself has been turned to the back to create the binding. She’s in overall very good shape, with a couple loose stitches here and there and a couple small tears on the triangles. Small repairs have been made along some of the triangle seams over time. (See photos.) A very light fold stain along the center of the back, and a hint of one on front, but hard to detect. A gorgeous quilt to enjoy this fall!
Measurements: 78” x 80”
$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.
All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.
Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
