Miniature Snowballs Nine-Patch Quilt

$0.00
sold

A truly exquisite quilt in a cherry red and crisp white, this quilt’s pattern is unique and mesmerizing. Within each offset nine-patch block, the quilter used a Snowball pattern, snipping off the corners of the squares and rearranging them into the tiniest bowties. But the blocks themselves are only part of her beauty — the quilting is breathtaking! Between each of the nine-patch blocks are at least eight different quilting patterns, not to mention the ones that skirt the edges. The wide, multiple-lined cable border provides a frame worthy of her center, and is just wonderful to the touch. This quilt has been washed by hand and is in excellent condition with just a few very small marks/stains as shown in the last photo. A true treasure to bring into your home and pass down to the next generation.

Measurements: 77” x 78”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

15% of profits from this sale will go specifically towards supporting the quilt collection at the American Folk Art Musuem in NYC. See their website for more information about their current quilt exhibit “What the Quilt Knows About Me” and to order the 2nd edition of “Red and White Quilts: Infinite Variety.”

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
