Provenance/Notes:
A stunning variety of 19th century fabrics cut and pieced into hexagons in a center floral design
Framed by the prettiest salmon and cream colored borders. Zoom in to see the tree and leaf prints on these two fabrics.
Despite the center design, the distribution of the fabric colors give a beautiful evenness to the design. The quilt could easily be folded and displayed on any side
Hails from the Shenandoah Valley; maker/origin unknown
In great condition with just two hexagons that have been replaced with period fabric and one pink hexagon that shows a bit of dye migration (mostly evident on backside, see last photo)
Measurements: 65” x 80”
$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount. Price for smaller items have been adjusted (lowered) to account for the lower shipping cost.
International customers: If you enter a shipping address outside of the US, you will not be charged for shipping upon checkout. A separate invoice will be sent once shipping is calculated. Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.
