Old Italian Block Quilt
One of two pieces that hails from the Packwood House Museum collection in Pennsylvania that closed its doors a few years ago, this Old Italian Block quilt is stunning in her graphic simplicity. She is made in a classic pattern rendered in a way that is surprisingly modern, with quiet subtle details that make her special. The background fabric of her red blocks is a white calico star fabric, while the remaining areas are made of a tiny black Swiss dot on white. The red fabric used is a rich, true red. She has been washed by hand and is in impeccable condition and will make a beautiful accent in any space. She is crisp and lightweight and is a very inviting everyday piece to snuggle under for a nap. Museum documentation will be included with this quilt.
