Pattern: Geese in Flight / Half Square Triangle
Date: c. 1900
Provenance/Notes:
Gorgeous, graphic display of period fabrics in rows of half square triangles
Note the charming make-do scraps here and there that the quilter used when she likely ran out of the color being used
Two colors of trim pieced together — indigo and claret
Medium weight, soft and cozy
Found in New England; origin/maker unknown
Overall good condition — some fabric wear to brown and purple triangles (these colors typically weakened fabrics) and some slight discoloration to background cream fabric; a worn trim (see last couple photos)
Washed by hand
Measurements: 64” x 77”
