Rainbow of Birds in the Air Quilt
And today, just when I
could not stand myself any longer,
a group of field sparrows, that were
actually field sparrows, flew up into
the bare branches of the hackberry
and I almost collapsed: leaves
reattaching themselves to the tree
like a strong spell for reversal. What
else did I expect? What good
is accuracy amidst the perpetual
scattering that unspools the world.

A gorgeous landscape of jewel-toned birds flood the landscape of this quilt. Anchored by larger red triangles, a wonderful assortment of fabrics from the late 1800s were carefully cut and pieced together to create this beauty. Sizable at 85” square, she makes a stunning bed cover and would look beautiful in many different environments. Her little pops of green and yellow bring the outside in and the reds and browns add warmth. Truly a great year around piece! She has been washed by hand and is in great shape with just about 10 to 12 little triangles that show some wear and a worn-out border. A joyful piece that will bring a gorgeous accent to any room!
