Double Purple + Pink Calico Flying Geese Little Quilt

sold

A wonderful little Flying Geese quilt from circa 1860-1870s made with an unusual double purple calico, this graphic little quilt will tickle the heart of all purple and pink lovers. The double purple calico has been known to be unstable fade over time and much sun exposure to shades of brown, and this is evident in some areas of this quilt. For those who enjoy the character of this fabric and the special color accent, she is a real find and keeper! She is backed by a rich red calico — a fun contrast. She has no tears or dark stains and is in good condition aside from her faded areas. Note that she is slightly irregular rectangle. A great accent for any corner of your home!

Measurements: 41” x 46”

Choose shipping for SMALL QUILT ($8 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.) If you need shipping outside the 48 contiguous states (Alaska, Hawaii, worldwide), please choose Local Pickup at checkout and reach out for a separate shipping invoice. Sales tax will be added to any Virginia state orders. Orders shipped to destinations outside of Virginia are not taxed.

All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Safelight, a North Carolina-based nonprofit agency that provides support for survivors of interpersonal violence, sexual assault and child abuse. For more, see safelightfamily.org

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
