Eight Point Star Quilt with Scrappy Sawtooth Border

sold

A gorgeous quilt made with plump eight point stars, framed with a sawtooth border that showcases a beautiful selection of fabrics from the mid to late 1800s against a verdant background. This quilt would be lovely on a wall or on a bed. Her earthy tones — greens, browns, yellows, reds, and blues — would be beautiful in a variety of settings. It seems that the quilter may have run out the fabric used for the majority of the stars and added a few different fabrics on the stars along the edges — a treat for scrappy lovers! Notice that one small white square shows traces of a black feedsack print. Her double line quilting gives her a wonderful ribbed texture, and she has a nice weight without being thick. She is good condition for her age with three stars and four border triangles that show some wear, and some light residual color from color migration on some of her border triangles (there was some dye migration from one particular fabric). She has been washed by hand and is ready for her new lover.

Measurements: 77” x 79”
