Autumn Grasses Bar Quilt

$0.00
sold

Night falls on the mountains,

but in the fields the pampas grasses

show in the twilight.

-Buson / an autumn haiku

Simple and graphic this green, yellow and white Bars quilt is both the perfect accent in a modern or traditional setting. She’s also soft and cozy enough to be your everyday quilt. Her back is a beautiful mousy brown with a lovely print, and she is striking folded at the foot of the bed against white linens. The circular quilting on her green bars is a lovely contrast to her stripes. Her two longer edges were damaged and therefore refinished (by hand) by turning the existing back to create an edge to match the other two sides. She is in great condition, aside from border wear on her two shorter sides and some evidence of fabric thinning on a couple places on back. (See photos) She has been washed by hand and is ready for her new home!

Measurements: 67” x 82”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Tubman’s Hopetober campaign during domestic violence awareness month. Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, mental and chemical health counseling, youth programming, and community education throughout the Twin Cities. See tubman.org for more information on their important work.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
