This and That Quilt

sold

A simple geometric pattern rendered with the most wonderful variety of scrappy fabrics, this quilt is vibrant and graphic, and a fun study of antique quilt fabrics. Her faded chambray blue colored back and the quilting done with darker thread give her a lovely primitive feel. She would be gorgeous folded and draped on the back of a chair or quilt rack as an accent, or at the foot of a bed. She has been washed by hand and has a crisp, textural feel and will break in nicely with used by her new owner. Some of her cream pieces have a bit of discoloration, and there is some scattered light staining on the back and trim, but she is in excellent condition structurally. The black polkadots on a couple of her cream blocks have worn away. (See photos.) A fantastic piece to add to your collection!

Measurements: 68” x 72.5”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

International customers: If you enter a shipping address outside of the US, you will not be charged for shipping upon checkout. A separate invoice will be sent once shipping is calculated. 15% of profits from this sale will go towards Hilliard House in Richmond, VA — an organization local to Flying Geese that provides short-term emergency shelter for up to 40 children and adults who are on their way to a permanent home but need a safe and supportive stopover. Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
