True Blue Nine-Patch Quilt

$0.00
sold

A vast sea of indigo blue squares, alternating with a wide variety of white calicos and shirtings, this quilt is a summer dream. Look closely and you will see the 9-patch blocks that were used to piece this beauty. This quilt will bring the hues of sea and sky indoors. She has a soft hand and has a bit more batting than a super thin quilt for those who like a quilt with a touch more substance. A lovely faded indigo trim was applied by hand, with one edge that was likely most often handled and has wear. But otherwise she’s in excellent condition and has been washed by hand and is ready for you. This is a quilt you will not come by often, but will likely hold onto for a long, long time.

Measurements: 66.5” x 82.5”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Hilliard House in Richmond, VA — an organization local to Flying Geese that provides short-term emergency shelter for children and adults who are on their way to a permanent home. Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
