Calico Notebook Indigo Quilt

$0.00
sold

On an expanse of deep blue indigo, small colorful squares are pieced on white blocks, like a study of turn-of-century fabrics on the pages of a notebook. Generously sized, she makes a beautiful, richly colored bed cover, but is also perfect for the collection of someone who loves to study antique calico fabrics. Her back is made of the same indigo fabric, like a swatch of the night sky. The black squares in a few of her blocks have left a bit of a smudge on their surrounding white fabric due to a bit of dye run over time. But otherwise she’s in excellent condition and has been thoroughly washed by hand and hung to dry. A thin quilt, she lays beautifully on a bed, and would be also wonderful layered with another blanket or comforter.

Measurements: 87” x 87”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

All quilts come with a muslin tag noting any known history, and an archival Micron pen for you to add yours.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards Tubman’s Hopetober campaign during domestic violence awareness month. Tubman provides safe shelter, legal services, mental and chemical health counseling, youth programming, and community education throughout the Twin Cities. See tubman.org for more information on their important work.

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
