Zigzag Tumbler Quilt

sold

A Tumbler quilt is a pattern that you don’t come across every day, especially made with such a fun whimsical variety of fabrics! This quilt was once a part of the quilt archives at the Packwood House museum in Pennsylvania, and understandably so in her uniqueness and workmanship. Turned in one direction, the blocks look like tumblers or goblets, and then turned the other way, like carafes or milk bottles. Take your pick, as she’s fully reversible! Slightly more medium in weight, she makes for a perfect piece for the coming fall and winter. The gray mourning fabric that frames quilt is a beautiful contrast to the rich double pink throughout. The back is made of a cozy plaid in blue and white. In excellent condition for age with just a couple small light marks (see last photo), she is both a gorgeous conversation piece and a lovely piece to snuggle under this fall and winter.

Measurements: 77” x 80”

$20 flat rate shipping includes insurance coverage for the full purchase amount.

15% of profits from this sale will go towards House of Ruth in Washington DC. Founded in 1976, House of Ruth empowers women, children and families to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma, abuse and homelessness. For more, see their website www.houseofruth.org

Note on antique/vintage quilts: Many of the quilts we sell have been loved, slept under, washed, sunshine dried, taken on picnics, slept on underneath the stars, and lived lifetimes before arriving at our doorstep. You can expect to see repairs made by later generations, fraying around the edges or in certain blocks, discoloration or yellowing, cotton/wool batting—or as we like to call them, tiny sheep—peeking through. They are imperfect, but their imperfections are charming to us and we hope you feel the same. They are reminders to us of their old age and the history to which they've been a witness. We try our best to note any imperfections, but it’s possible we might miss one here and there. Well-crafted, handmade antique quilts in their original form are becoming scarcer, and we believe it's vital that we preserve them and continue to love them, imperfections and all.

Because these quilts are one-of-a-kind and we are a tiny enterprise, we do not accept returns; please review all photos and the description carefully and ask any questions you may have prior to purchasing.
